How to Apply

Submitted by ewmerth on Mon, 02/11/2008 - 12:01pm.

Please note that our program accepts on-line applications only for admission.

For Winter 2013 applications and beyond: access the on-line application. You will be prompted to create or have your eID ready to access the on-line application.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers an on-line application system for admission to the department through the Faculty of Graduate Studies which is the administrative unit responsible for all graduate students in the University of Calgary. It is the only unit that can formally admit an applicant into graduate school in Calgary, and it is the unit that must approve all candidates before they receive a graduate degree.

Please follow the instructions carefully and ensure that all supporting documents are forwarded to the department as requested. Applications without all required documentation are considered incomplete and not available for review by the department

International Students

If you are an international student, please refer to the International Centre and the Centre of International Students for more information.

Deadlines

Application forms and supporting documents are due:

  • March 1 for September admission
  • July 1 for January admission

Separate deadlines apply for scholarships, fellowships, and bursaries. For internal (University of Calgary) fellowships, the deadline is February 1 If you are unable to meet that deadline, alternative funding opportunities are available.
