Thirteen years ago Sandy Murphree was the Head of the Department of Physics and Astronomy; one year later he stepped down and another year later accepted the position of Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science, again moving up to being the Dean of the Faculty of Science. And now he has moved up again.

U of C scientists working with an international team of researchers have made a huge advancement in the study of antimatter – they've come up with a way to produce antihydrogen atoms that are cold enough to be trapped and studied.
