Physics and Astronomy
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Calgary is involved in many outreach activities geared toward raising scientific awareness in the public and encouraging kids to consider pursuing a career in science. These include visits to local high, middle, and elementary schools, our annual 'degree' in Rollercoasterology, public lectures, viewing nights at the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory and education workshops for science teachers, among many others.
