Life in the "PHAS-lane"!!

Our goal is to provide Physics and Astronomy (PHAS) students at the University of Calgary with a world-class physics education that is also satisfying, exciting, and engaging. To this end, we have created the Undergraduate Liaison Committee (ULC) whose mandate is to provide our undergraduates with a direct conduit to the faculty with which to express their experiences/thoughts/suggestions/complaints about the undergraduate program and departmental life in general. Some of the topics we will discuss include (but are not restricted to):

  • What do you like about the program?
  • What would you like to see added or changed about the program?
  • How can you experience (both academic and extra-curricular) as a Physics and Astronomy student be improved upon?

The committee will be composed of one faculty member, representatives from each year of the physics/astrophysics program, and the PASA president. We plan to meet 2 or 3 times per year to discuss topics relevant to life as a PHAS undergraduate, and methods by which we can correct problems and/or improve upon successes.

If you have any ideas/thoughts/suggestions about life in the "PHAS- lane", either pass them on to one of the current ULC representatives (below), or consider joining the committee yourself. Please help us to help you!
