Dark skies

It's back and better than ever, late night observing at the RAO. The new moon will provide dark skies to view the Milky Way and with any luck maybe a meteor or two. Each evening, from Saturday July 27 to July 29, you are invited to the RAO to observe next to our research scientists. The darkness will help us key in on distant faint objects and provide opportunities for deep sky viewing.

In the sky – The planets Venus, Mars and Saturn will be visible along with the beginning of the Perseids meteor shower.

Gates Open: 10:00pm-2:00am each night

Entrance Fee - donation to our education programs

Check the RAO website after 6:00pm to ensure skies are clear for observing.
