Introducing rollercoasterlogy - a day-long field trip to Calaway Park that focuses on the math, forces and physics behind amusement park rides. Student follow workbooks, making simple measurements as they explore the park. The junior workbook focuses on simple machines, forces and geometry while the senior workbook focuses on Newton’s laws, acceleration and energy. Students can also write the final exam, allowing them to earn a mini degree in rollercoasterology at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate level.
